Andrew Hayman is Director – Africa E&P Service for Drillinginfo (www.drillinginfo.com), a global service provider to the oil and gas business, headquartered in Austin, TX, providing data, analytics and software to help companies make better decisions.
Andrew has been in the business for over 30 years, with a special emphasis on Africa. He worked in seismic operations, sales, and new business development, tracking up and down the West Africa margin before it was fashionable. This led to numerous contacts with NOCs, and organising marine seismic joint ventures, training and technology transfer and national bid-rounds and promotions for different countries. Subsequently, he worked in databases, computer cartography, and GIS (geographic information systems) as applied in exploration. He heads up Drillinginfo’s database and scouting teams for Africa, based in the UK. Andrew has degrees in Earth Sciences from Bristol University, Leeds University, and London University (Birkbeck College).
The Drillinginfo family started in 1999. What began as a simple online permit and completion mapping database became one of the INC 5000 fastest growing companies by 2008.
In 2004, Drillinginfo expanded tremendously with its acquisition historical well and scout information from PennEnergy and started Drillinginfo Energy Strategy Partners, a buy-side consulting group. Drillinginfo International went into operation in 2008 taking the company into the global arena. In 2009, Drillinginfo expanded their North American operations with the acquisition of HPDI (now DI Desktop), a nationwide production data provider, making it one of the largest oil and gas databases in the world.
Along with being in the INC 5000 Fastest Growing Companies for the past two years, Drillinginfo has also been a part of the 50 Fastest Growing Companies in Central Texas four of the past six years.
