Fernando Docters is an investment banker at Standard Bank Group in New York, responsible for originating business with oil and gas companies based in the Americas and which have existing or prospective business in Africa. Standard Bank Group, based in Johannesburg, is the largest bank in Africa, operates as a bank in 18 countries in sub Saharan Africa, and is mainly focused on natural resources.

Formerly, Fernando was covering business in Latin America for Standard. He previously was responsible at Societe Generale for oil and gas project finance transactions in the Americas, based in NY. Prior to that Fernando worked for Chase Securities/Chase Manhattan Bank (currently JP Morgan Chase), where he originated debt financing transactions in the structured and corporate loan market and capital markets, M&A and project finance advisory, and derivatives, with companies based or with business in Latin America, based first in Buenos Aires, and then in NY. Fernando started his career doing financial planning at the Techint Group.
