Government of Angola approves new onshore licensing for Sonangol
Sonangol, the national oil company of Angola has received approval from the government to offer onshore blocks in the lower Congo and Kwanza basins for bidding to interested companies. Angola is one of the top producers of oil in Africa.
According to H.E. Anibal da Silva, the country’s Vice minister of Petroleum, “.he concession included prospecting, exploration, development and production of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons in the KON2, KON4, KON11, and KON12 blocks and allows the national concessionaire to carry out a preliminary assessment of existing resources and determine their potential.”
