Prof. Anthony Adegbulugbe

Chairman, All Grace Energy, Nigeria

 

Prof Adegbulugbe is the Chairman of All Grace Energy Limited, the Operator of the Ubima Marginal Field in OML 17, Rivers State Nigeria.  Before assuming his role in All Grace Energy,  he was a Senior Advisor to the Nigerian Infrastructural Advisory Facility between 2012 and2014.  He was the Special Adviser on Energy Matters to the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, a Member of the National Economic Management Team,and the Chairman of the National Gas to Power initiative between 2005 and 2007.

 

Prof Adegbulugbe has been involved in carrying out analysis on energy, environment and economic interaction issues. As a result of his academic work, he was a Lead Author of the Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change which won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. Between 2001 and 2004, he was aMember, Expert Group on Technology transfer (EGTT), United National Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and for many years a Member, Nigeria Delegation/Negotiation Team to the Conference of the Parties (COP) 7, 8 & 9, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

 

Prof Adegbulugbe has served in many national and international energy assignments including being the Chairman, ECOWAS Regional Multi-sectorial Committee on Energy Access between 2005 and 2007. He has consulted on energy issues with various national and international organisations such as the World Bank, UN, National and International Oil, Gas and Power companies.

 

Prof Adegbulugbe is Director of several energy and manufacturing companies including Green Energy International Limited (Operator of Otakikpo Marginal Field, Nigeria), Triple E Associates Ltd  and Heptagon Ventures Limited.

 

A Professor of Energy and Management with several academic distinctions and awards, Prof Adegbulugbe was a Director/Chief Executive at the Centre for Energy Research and Development, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria for over a decade. Between 1984 and 1986, he was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Institut fur Kernenergetik und Energiesyteme, University of Stuttgart, Germany. He holds a First Class (“BSc”) degree inElectronics/Electrical Engineering from the University of Ife, Nigeria (1976) and a DSc. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (“MIT”), USA (1981).
